A chula is a South Asian outdoor oven made of clay, sand and straw, fired with wood or charcoal. I documented the construction of a large chula using reclaimed clay from building-sites around London, led by artists by Oreet Ashery and Roo Dhissou, with Rescued Clay. Taking place at Bees and Refugees in rural Kent, the film also features interviews with Ali Alzein, founder of the site, and Muhammed Aljwania, one of the beekeepers.

Conceived by Turner Prize nominated artist Oreet Ashery with Bees and Refugees, the film was shown in September 2026 as part of the Beeing Together project event at the Crab Museum, Margate. It is also being screened in North Acton Square, London, for Park Royal Design District's Summer Streets programme.
