From the End of the Road world premiere - Flatpack Festival (May 2022)
I'm very happy to say that my MA dissertation film, 'From the End of the Road', has been selected for this years Flatpack Festival, the pioneering main film festival in Birmingham, UK. It will be screened on Saturday 21st May, as part of their 'Made in the Midlands' programme, free for all, and just before a party in their Festival Hub in Digbeth.
I'm delighted that the film will be shown for the first time in it's home city.
Exploding Cinema (November 2020)
'Within, without' the short film I made this summer has once again been selected to be screened. Exploding Cinema have moved their screenings onto the virtual world during the Covid-19 pandemic, and my film will be a part of their show of other films on Saturday 7th November. I'll be there after the programme for the Q&A. Access to the show and their website can be made through here: https://explodingcinema.org/2020/next-show/
Locked-Down at Oddball Gallery (August 2020)
I am pleased to write that 'Within, without', the short fiction film I made in July 2020, has been selected to be a part of Oddball Gallery's virtual exhibtion, Locked-Down, live between August 10th - October 10th. A still from the film can just be seen on the television screen between Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol!
The intriguing space they have made online is a bespoke gallery which, as they say, is:
'a virtual exhibition in the form of a text based game. Within this game are images, text, audio and video. You can explore the different rooms of the gallery and read through the displayed artists.
This exhibition showcases how art has still persisted during a global pandemic, with us all being locked-down at home. It is incredibly important to see how artist have still managed to thrive and keep being creative during the current climate.'
'Midlands Spotlight – Filmmaker Ben Crawford' (August 2020)
The kind folk at Midlands Movies have run a spotlight article on me and the films I have made between June and August 2020. It features Selly Oak's Community Response, Cooperation Birmingham: Solidarity Kitchen and Within, Without.
