A major exhibition by British artist Grayson Perry at MAC, from the TV series, Grayson’s Art Club. I was briefed to make a series of five films showcasing five artists participating in the exhibition. I worked with MAC’s Curator and Artistic Director to produce this series, with the videos featured alongside the exhibited pieces, and shorter edits for use across social media channels. This was also the first time MAC had taken on exhibition partnership, so I facilitated the integration of external branding in these videos.

Visiting all five’s studio environments, I uncovered creative processes in impromptu shoots and interviews that took place without location recces.

The film features: Joe Whale, aka ‪The Doodle Boy‬, a professional young artist with a prestigious client list, including The Football Association, Disney and Nike; Hannah Middleton & Yii-Jen – non-professional artists working from home; Saranjit Birdi, a professional artist, learning about his studio, places and things that inspire him; and Mel & Nat from the Cosby Crafters, looking at the reasons why they founded a community craft group, and the extraordinary effect they and their Yarn Bombs have had on the community.
