During my part-time MA, I also worked part-time for esteemed contemporary art gallery Ikon. In collaboration with producers, curators and development, I showcased exhibitions and events. The videos I made saw me work through planning, production and delivery to promote the wider work of the gallery, enabling audiences to engage with their programme digitally.

I recorded voiceovers and interviews with staff and students which were accompanied with B-roll documentation of exhibitions. One video was also complemented by audio from an externally produced interview by a notable media partner. I worked with these in the edit to introduce the artist and their exhibition to online audiences.

Ikon went on to commission me to creatively document a public performance by young artists in Ikon’s Youth Programme, that was funded by the Freelands Foundation. The result was a short film produced for their social media channels, featuring performance and musical artists staging their multi-presented work in front of a public audience.
