Adeela Suleman: Artist’s Tapestry Workshop

Turn subtitles on for Arabic translation

The Community Tapestry project connected nine women from across the region to collaborate on a new piece of appliqué artwork, alongside artists Adeela Suleman and Ranbir Kaur. It coincided with the exhibition from Karachi-based artist Adeela Suleman, The Allegory of War.

I documented the workshop over a series of evenings, which I paired with interviews I conducted with selected participants. One participant had recently migrated to the UK, so I facilitated translation of their interview for the video. The finished video was utilised across MAC’s social media channels, and displayed on a screen alongside the completed tapestry.
