Selly Oak Response is a group formed by current students at the University of Birmingham at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. They set up a foodbank and community response network serving people in need helped by a diverse group of local volunteers. I am creating a short-film documenting the work they are doing.
Promotional video for Solidarity Kitchen at the Warehouse Cafe
The Warehouse Cafe, a workers cooperative, had to close owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. During this period they set up the Solidarity Kitchen, a meal donation service helped by over 300 volunteers that has given out thousands of meals free-of-charge. Dissertation Dislexia Workshop to demonstrate techniques for dislexic students to write better essays. Coordinated by Professor Nicholas Adams who required 2 video outcomes: a training film for others to hold similar workshops and a promotional film.

One of three public events championing positive change in the visual arts ecology by showcasing best practice and informing the development of a new phase in the network's activity. Made possible with financial support from Arts Council England.

With time of the essense in the hectic run-up to the culmination of their degrees, the film is a sped-up tour of one of the busy group studios. Filmed with a focus on the artist, their works in progress and the make-up of their studio surroundings, the film also displays a roving group crit/meeting.
